Jones, OT

So s'morning we had no gym as they are all at college but then after lunch Sarah Jones the OT came in. To not really see me, all 4 of my assistants are in (in grey cars) for her to talk about panic attacks etc, and how they can help me deal with anxiety

Dinner

And for dinner tonight we happened to be in the supermarket anyway so I bought some onion bhaji some veg spring rolls and some veg samosa's.

Which when we came back I cooked some oven chips and them, so effectively we had curry and chips for tea and it was very nice

Cosmos

So this morning I had a visit from Nic Cosmos, the housing expert who was checking out "this place" for my solicitors and making notes that when I buy the house I will..... which needs to be put into my claim

AND I forgot to comment on his cosmic name....

Dinner Time

And I made a stir fry veg with chilli sauce and cous-cous for tea and it was rather nice. Tomorrow back onto frozen food but it was nice

Hooray

And for today when I woke up I stripped my bed, put that onto wash now waiting politiley for a trip to gym

And I worked hard at the gym, as usual. I was talking to a new partner today and she commented on how much better I am getting

Double Figures

So last week we had the snow, ice and generally freezing conditions, whereas today the weather forecast is in double figures. 10+......

Cooking Dinner

So we went shopping today and I am now ½ way through cooking a Sunday Dinner (new pic now)

And it was lovely too, when it was ready. Surprisingly easy to cook but surprisingly difficult to eat properly with a knife and fork

So we did the electric shock to my leg thing again

Shopping

So we nipped to Morrison's today and did our weeks shopping and a bit. We bought some Roasties and Yorkshire pudding and summat to cook in the oven so we can have a "proper" Sunday Dinner

Lie In

When I woke up s'morning (1) it was 9.00!!!! A big lie in!!

(1) And I had my torch in my pocket!

Power

And there was a thunder attack earlier and all the lights went out and the power off.

Thankfully it came back later but a bit scary...

Walkies

And, as asked by Sara(h) t'other day, today I walked once I had my splint fitted s'morning and didn't get back into my wheelchair, except when going outside, 'til after 5 this evening

Quiet

And I have had a quiet Saturday so far

Aardvarked

Then later we actually made it to Aardvark this week and picked up everything we need.

When I got there I thought "When I used to work here I noticed that everyone else who worked here was quite beautiful, nothing has changed!"

Sara no H

So s'morning Sara the physio came round. She said "No, we aren't swimming this week" which pleased me but then she did some scary stuff putting a mild electric current which was pulsing thru my leg. It didn't work at first, many many readjustments, then
eventually my foot lifted up one way all by itself. This is to, eventually, make my splint obsolete.

She also did some acupuncture on my left arm and rubbed on the right while we were waiting

Spring Time?

So it's raining s'morning, quite heavily onto the scared looking snow/ice outside

Wiv Freya

Then later this afternoon we called for Freya and said "Right, only one of my kids still in Wales, where shall we go for dinner?" She suggested The Angel Vaults which didn't have a lot of veggie food on the menu but the only thing was actually rather nice

And I had 2 small glasses wine so as to not get drunk and be un-understandable to Freya

But next week we will need to eat in again

Lie In

My alarm clock wasn't switched on last night so I stayed asleep until 9 s'morning.

Good lord etc

More Snowy

So yesterday there was snow all over the place but none around Carmarthen but today it has come back here, big style. Paul came into work just as it started, my solicitor just about made it but they are both here. Denyse was supposed to be here too but got snowed in at home

Hope

Then this afternoon Dicky shared a link with me that nearly made him cry, and it made me wanna cry too.

But it was proof that there is hope for us "never walk"ers

More Reason's To Shop.....

So Dicky said to me "Shopping today as you are busy tomorrow" so in the end I agreed, we went to Morrison's bought salad etc but then I noticed a pack of crisps so dieting is..... well.....

Folking

And for some reason me and Paul contacted 'em yesterday and confirmed that it is on tonight so me and Ed are heading to Burry Port Folk Club tonight

And it was excellent if a bit exhausting

England

So that Toby chap is in Wolverhampton today, in that England place, he has moved

And I txted him "So job centre tomorrow?" and he replied "No, I am calling into shops and pubs tomorrow to try and find work"

Dinner

And two parts of tonight's dinner fit together so strongly. Scrambled eggs and beans.

Doctors

And I am off to the doctors now to show him my mole, which apparently has changed colour and got bigger

And he examined it and said "No prob", looked at the small swelling on my leg and said "'Various' Vein" so it was a good result, being sent away with no bad news

Choking

I finished my lunch, sipped my coffee and it went down the wrong way. Ed heard me choking and came rushing in, he said I was red and my eye rolled up so he leaned me forward and I then started coughing.

Scary, I think I was unconscious for about a minute, I have no memory of him coming into room and fixing me, first thing I knew he was stood beside me asking "R U OK?"

Gym

And I went to the gym s'morning and worked even harder. Apparently too, someone else noticed how hard I was working

Child's Boots

Then s'morning we took a run out to Kidwelly to the house, across the road from a pub, where I think we were living when I had my crash.

It was a bit strange, no memory of living there, but I did recognise nearby places stronger than last time

Out To Play

And then I txted Julia to say "Tara Toby" but she replied "Not going today, so wanna go out with Toby and Freya for tea" so we are gonna wait at the end of their road tonight and take 'em both out for dinner

Which we did and it was better than I expected, me and Freya and Toby talking. And being a bit emotional, but "Missing you already" etc

Right Knee

And after I got up today my right knee was hurting loads, even if I rested it on the ground and moved, it hurt so much that I needed to stick my right foot out and move with my left leg. After my bath and nap it hurts loads less, dunno why but phew

Dinner

And I actually got it together to make proper food tonight, from my chair, we had stir fry veg and sauce and couscous. And it was delicious, it's 2 - 3 weeks since I have made proper food as I was trying to stand in the kitchen, I sat down tonight and actually cooked.

And it made me think....

"Meat is murder but couscous is cool"

No ready meals heated tonight...

Stuck Here

As it's snowy we are stuck here with no visitors

And I have just watched out the window next door and their kid, who is at a guess 18 months old, playing in his first snow. He was just starting to get the hang of snow balls but he is still a bit small to actually make one...

Panic Buying

Then after we took Freya back home tonight we headed to Tesco's and panic bought my shopping list for tomorrow and Monday from Aardvark and Morrison's just in case we get stuck in here in the snow

Whuped Her

And as Freya wanted to play cards I won at cheat, twice

Got it back

Then at 4 o'clock they phoned and said "Your car's ready" so Paul was able to drive me and Ed there in his van and Ed was able to drive me home again in my car

Team

So "they" were all here for a "team meeting" today, up to and including that Denyse girly

Defrosted

And when I get up and look out s'morning the snow has melted

It's Snowing

Well, tonight it is snowing. Not very hard and according to the weather forecast not for very long but it is snowing.

I am not pleased.

Off to Doctors

And we are off in a bit to the doctors to get my new inhalers. I phoned the order thru on Monday and it seemed to be OK

And it was, we went there about 35 minutes before gym, I got my 'script, went to the chemist and got it changed into medicine, headed off to gym and we were 5 minutes early

And gym was as much fun as usual, as usual loads of hard work (since I upped the class) but it seems to be improving me

Wine, Women and....

Well despite everything I had 2 lge glasses wine tonight

And me and Toby are being posh

Yes, we went off towards Debenhams to Frankie & Benny's for tea, I bought Toby his dinner. It was OK but I think I have had all the vegetarian selection many many times

Sara(h)

So with today's Sara(h) we drove into town, parked in the Old Tesco's, then we set off walking with Timmy pushing wheelchair and I was using my walky stick.

I walked the whole way from car park, along Merlin's Walk then across road to Aardvark.

We went to the café next door to Aardvark and was bought a coffee by Sara(h). She said that perhaps I can walk to there, have a coffee resting then walk to and around Aardvark

So I walked the whole way there, from car to Aardvark

Well I went to gym today, it was hard work again but it does feel as if it is doing me good. I had 10 mins on a bike and I did 5 minutes at difficulty level 5, 4 minutes at 7 which was as high as I have ever been, and one minute on 10

Snowless

Well the rest of the country seems snowed in but there is none by here in Dyfed. Phew

Maybe

Mmm, not sure but perhaps my PC is a bit happier and quicker after I loaded a new program called Malwarebytes Anti-Malware which after it's first scan today ejected some 86 programs after I had checked them out

3 lbs

And Dicky weighed me today, well he watched while I weighed myself, and in the last week I have lost 3 pounds, exactly on target and at the right speed

More Reason's To Shop At....

And as my timetable was looking a bit full tomorrow what with gym etc I decided that we should go shopping a day early so we went to Morrison's and got a weeks shopping.

Including a bottle of whiskey which I mustn't drink and of until after midnight tonight

Colder

And last night when I went to bed, with the central heating turning off about the same time same as usual, I noticed that it was much colder in the bedroomm than usual

Spudless

So this afternoon I ate a packet of potatoless crisps and they were actually quite nice, rather strange but nice

Which I am not going to buy any more of until I finish my diet

More Walking

So yesterday after my splint was fitted I abandoned my wheelchair until I was about to cook dinner. So I walked up and down the kitchen and made lunch

Today I am doing the same, since about 20 past 10 'til now (13.44) I have been walking and will continue to do so

I will wheelchair into the bathroom, have my bath, then abandon it again

PNG smaller

So I did a webpage last night with a PNG image which was coming out all half sized, this morning I thought "Erm...." and put together a new webpage, on my site, with that picture in it (IYSWIM) and now it is bigger and more legible.

Eggs

So I was preparing scrambled eggs and... for dinner. I cracked one egg, no problem, I cracked the second and a small bit of shell broke off into the bowl. Disaster. I was able, after much struggling, to dip in with a teaspoon and fish it out.

Aardvarking

So we headed to Aardvark in the drizzle s'afternoon. I managed to walk the whole length of the shop and up the ramp at the back, and back down the ramp and back to me wheelchair. About ½ the time I walked around the shop and for the second ½ I was 'chairbound

Walking With Physio

So the Physio lady came to see me today. We did some exercises first of all then we went out for a walk. We walked about ⅔ way up the hill towards the pub, there I stepped down the kerb and crossed the road in order to take a photo, then I walked all the way back. It was much further than last time we tried this

So we went to Bro Myrddin and picked up that Freya today. She brought in an enormous schoolbag and got stuck in to revising straight away. After half an hour she grew fed up with revision and got on my PC. I am not sure if I should be a nagging father or not

Back2Normal

And I found that I am back to walking everywhere all day again, my wheelchair stayed out of reach today

Jessoping

And we went out looking for Jessops today, as apparently they have just gone out of business in the last few days. But the info we had was more OOD, when we came back here after looking and looking I checked again and apparently the Carmarthen store closed a few months ago

Dull Day

So Dicky is in today and my timetable is empty until we have to pick up that Freya at Bro Myrddin at 5.45 tonight

Mouse Batteries

Then suddenly my mouse wasn't working, no movement, no clicks etc. I panicked for 1½ minute then thought "Batteries?". It was quick and easy, within about 40 seconds it was working again.

With the rechargeable batteries I bought t'other week

In all my years of using a PC I have never had one of these "mouses that requires batteries", mine have always connected via a wire

So the woman who was here yesterday said "Walk more Neil" but today, as I had an exhausting gym session s'morning I have been wheely chair ever since, but tomorrow I will be back to walking more

Bum bag crisis

And as I was on my way to the loo before going to gym suddenly my bum bag fell off. The catch had broken whereas the rest of the bag looked nearly new. I was looking online for a replacement when Edwina said "No...." and suggested I look for a replacement. Which I did and bought one for a couple of quid, so hopefully when it arrives all will be well

Jiminy

Well we nipped to Gym to gym today and I think there is a new habit. I parked my 'chair outside, "he" changed my boots and when time came I stood up and walked in to class, walked around class and walked out when it was finished, and changed my boots back

Poorly Son

And that Toby chap came to see me today and he felt a bit poorly. So earlier than usual we took him to his Mums for the night

Bit Nervous

And I feel marginally apprehensive today as after lunch time the person is coming in who will see me walking from the car park to Aardvark

No, we didn't, it was raining too hard so we stayed here and talked about loosing my wheelchair etc and about how I need to learn "I can do that" again

Fark, what a morning

So it turned out that Sally Gooch (Dunno if she is related to Graham [noisy video]) who was coming to see me s'morning, she was very pleasant. We had to talk about my accident etc and how well I am doing

Dinner

And for dinner tonight, as I was in Morrison's a day early this week, I bought an extra packet of naan bread to make into pizza for dinner tonight. I defrosted the onion for topping but forgot to buy mushrooms. I thought "I can't drive all the way back to the shop for 3 mushrooms lets just have onion". Then it occurred to me "Look in the back of the fridge" and lo and behold there was a jar of sun dried tomatoes which had been sat there for some months, unopened, and gosh it was delicious

And because "someone" is coming to see my tomorrow(1) morning, and Monday morning is usually when I A) Change my bed and B) Go to Morrison's shopping, I decide to do both of these a day early and changed my bed and nipped out shopping before napping s'afternoon

(1) Dunno why, to just keep up to date etc, to see how I am getting on living here in a proper house etc

Double

Well tonight after a number of months receiving 2 copies of every Ixion mail I tried again to fix it. But tonight I am looking for summat a bit different and within 3 minutes I had solved it. Dunno how many times I have tried over many months

More Lie In

And today's lie in was to after 9AM!!!!!

And that Ruth came here for lunch today, which was nice. She brought me some Xmas pressies which was a bit more embarrasing

Decadently today I didn't wake up/get up until 8.45AM

Even tho the film was 3 hours long I didn't need to go out for 6 pees like I would have 3 months ago, I didn't piss until we left at the end of the film

We had proper veggie hot dogs for tea tonight, not Linda McCartney sausages like the last time we tried. And by gord, they were lovely. Dunno if I would like it without a roll round it but just <b>yum, yum</b>

So we are picking Freya up about 4, bring her here, cook hot dawgs and oven chips for tea then we head off to the cinema in Llanelli to see The Hobbit

Gosh, it was long(1) but quite good, I think, it was only the first bit of the book tho....

Winzip is fixed

And the Winzip program that I bought (shudder) last week hasn't been working properly ever since, I had to just tell it I am using the free (one month) version, it wouldn't let me register. Then today I had a reply to the email I sent a few days ago saying "Sorry, try this link instead" and it all works now.

So I have been deleting the free copies which weren't as effective

Visitors

So for now I am sitting here being quiet as Freya is coming here on way to cinema tonight, when I got a txt from Ruth saying "When can I visit u?", then a MOS came in with a print out of an email he has just got from my solicitors saying "someome" is coming to assess me next Monday

What a night

So first of all I thought we would have a late dinner, first we would take that Toby to Kidwelly.

After we were there I said "Can we check out the new cinema in Llanelli?"

Which we did, it looks good, well accessible etc, so we bought 3 tickets for tomorrow to see The Hobbit 2d, for me, Ed and Freya.

Then we nipped to the eating in place at McDonald's and ate, I was too far away etc, actually it was OK

Then we went to Tesco's and bought a new diary for the office, on petty cash

Then we nipped into The Drovers Arms and had a pint and short, purely because I didn't wanna go home yet, we had done so much being out, and I wanted to accept it first.

Then we came back and first things first Timmy was able to add 3 items to the "What Neil spent on petty cash" book

Garlic Bread

And Timmy had bought a garlic bread to eat with his salad at lunchtime. When he opened it he swore, said "I need to bake it for 5 minutes", switched the oven on etc. When it was ready I could smell the garlic, perhaps not as strongly as others, Timmy said "The whole kitchen stinks of garlic now", I couldn't smell that, but I could smell the garlic

Gymming

So we are back to gym s'morning after our Xmas break

And yes, it was hard work, not just for me but everyone was struggling after a couple of weeks off, I did however manage to walk out of gym onto bikes etc, so I can still do it, it just felt a bit trickier today

Ybot

So then later we went to pick up that Toby chap, who had had far too much to drink last night and been in £120 worth of taxi journeys, which someone else paid, last night.

So yes, we fed him and took him home early

And in order to go out s'morning me and Dicky nipped to that Tesco's place (as Morrison's is shut today) and bought a bag of sugar for some of their teas and coffees which we paid for on the Petty Cash account

And when I pissed today my piss was still colourless, like it should be, we went to pub about 8 o'clock, I drank 3 pints and came home after midnight before pissing

New Year

And we nipped to the pub up the road tonight and stayed there 'til after midnight

Stu-ing

And we are nipping into town to meet Stuart at The Tangled Parrot for lunch

And it was good to see him, eat some Bagel and asked him(1) again where he lives

Drovers Arms

So as we were bored tonight we nipped into town to the Drovers Arms and watched darts on telly. I was out for ages, 3 double whiskeys, and didn't need a piss until after we had been indoors for about 15 minutes

Small Dinner

And for dinner tonight we just had 1/4 pound burgers in buns, which was very nice but it felt like we had too much bun, dunno what to do, toast it?

Christmas Videos

And into our Google Plus account "someone" has added loads of Xmas videos of me and my parents eating etc. Oh what fun we had

Saladless Lunch

And for lunch today I didn't have salad or toast. Shock horror. Because on the side in my kitchen is sitting a big box of unsweetened biscuits so I had 3 of these for lunch with a piece of cheese. OK, with loads of little bits of cut up cheese. It looks like this will be my lunch for the next week or two

And reading summat in The Guardian today and I was so impressed, even tho the world is turning on it's head financially that some people are being wise with what and on what they spend

Out And About

So we nipped into town to buy more plastic gloves and files for them, off my petty cash account and we nipped to Tesco's to buy some organic blueberries and then as we were leaving I looked at my shopping list and said we might as well nip to Morrison's and get the rest of my weeks shopping.

Which we would have been well capable of doing in Tesco's but we had already left there before I looked at my shopping list

Aardvarking

And we had a strange day in Aardvark, their supplier had supplied short date milk and another supplier had supplied no mushrooms, there were some of last weeks left all shrunk and dried out but we did have some to put on the pizza tonight

No Mince

And Timmy who has just left said that he didn't like any cheese or mince pies last night

And Ed who is here today said "No" to a mince pie after his dinner too

So todays pooh is interestingly poohed but you had told me to not talk about it so....

Dunno, crimes are up but I can't get my head round "social media", dunno, Ixion is enuf for me

Well, so it seems really different now, so I am in charge of cooking now etc.

So me and Timmy nipped to Tesco's, got a couple more light weight eating plates, drove to the bottle bank, I got out alone and walked the eight foot to the bank, put bottles in and walked back to the car

No Neil

No Neil, you can't get drunk just after lunchtime just because your parents and bruv have gone home, you will be sick and asleep by about 7 if you do

Gone Now

Well my parents have gone home now, peace perfect peace etc etc

And my Xmas deccys have been taken down too so the living room seems a lot bigger and more sensible now

Home

And my parents wanna leave tomorrow at such a time as they arrive in Cardiff and go to their hotel when it is still daylight, so at a guess they are leaving here after lunch tomorrow

Dinner

Then after sleep we ate loadsa food here then went out with my parents

Boxing

So we went out and had a boxing day lunch which was very nice until I started the omelette and saw pieces of ham within. She came and apologised(1) and gave me that and the portion of chips I had to cheer me up for free and the rest of the parties lunches for half price

(1) And said that she was telling off the chef who hadn't read the order properly
