iPad Crisis

So we came back from taking Freya home and the iPad had frozen, no buttons did anything, even the switch off button. About 20 minutes later I found about the third set of instructions that I had looked at on my phone and after much holding buttons together for 20 seconds etc it came back to normal

Loo

So we nipped to a public loo earlier, I went in, thought "OK" and took my bumbag off before sitting down and sat it in the sink.

Automatic taps came on and drenched it all

And we picked up Freya on the way to the Drs then took her to Frankie & Benny's for dinner as I couldn't be bothered cooking after a stressful day. Since we arrived at my house she has been fixated on the PC

Docs

So we went to the Drs s'afternoon. She said my blood test results showed imminent diabetes which I already knew and we asked her all about my legs and she said "No, make a proper appointment" whhich we did, it will be in the new year now 

What A Morning

Aargh. What a morning.

Firstly. We nipped to the Drs, picked up a script for Diprobase cream, made an appointment to see about my swollen legs (that I have had 2 antibiotics for so far, they are much better but still a bit wonky), and asked about my blood tests, they said ask the Dr s'afternoon, there is summat.....

Then we went to chemist and cashed in my 'script.

We were on the way to Trysordy to do voluntary work when the landlady phoned and said "Are u in, plumber's here" so we came straight home and let them in. o they fixed the leak and the loo now had=s 2 flush modes, poo and piss, or full flush and miniflush

So we will pick Freya up about 4 s'afternoon, take her for a brew and bun then head to Drs then come back here and eat afterwards

Happy Chappy

So I was tired tonight but I thought "Try looking again" so I searched again for "Free html editor 2 views", I don't know what was different tonight but the second reply led me to www.htmlkit.com/ where they had a free last years version and it seems to fit all my preconceptions.

I will be able to tell you better when I have done a few pages (1) but for now.....

Pissing

So today while the landlord was here I went to the staff loo. And they don't have a lifty up thingy on the top so I was able to have a pee standing up. The first I have managed in some months

So the landlord and his wife came round to look at my cistern and she said 'I haven't seen you for a year and you are so much better'

And they didn't fix the loo, took a part away to get a new one....

They came back, fixed that part and the part underneath started leaking. So it's switched off and they hope to be back tomorrow with a plumber in tow....

Dear

And I got out my clothes and towels etc, Alex packed the bag for me, we went to swimming pool and discovered he had packed my bag without swimming trunks, so we had to leave and come home

Out

So then we nipped to gym, which is all moved into a different room. I did longer on the treadmill before bicycling as it went better that way round

And on the way home from Gym we went to that Tesco's place and didn't buy any food or drink but I found another warm fleece type garment and bought that. I object to buying in Tesco's but I don't know where else to look

Late Lunch

But because we had a late breakfast s'morning I couldn't eat lunch at normal time

So we had a late dinner....

Out&About

Then after breakfast me and Alex headed into town to get some more mouthwash and special bulbs for my bedside table. While we were in the bulb shop I noticed a pirate model and had to buy one

Blood Test

So before breakfast I had to go to the doctors to have a blood test.

I was so nervous I neglected my opportunity to flirt with the nursey

And my feet are as small as they were b4 infection so...

Breakfastless

And I can't have a cuppa or any breakfast in't morning. We have to go to the Drs first thing and she is gonna take some blood then we will come back and I can have breakfast

Downloading

So I had a play with the version of ....shh.... that Stupot sent me and then I downloaded Arachriphilia as recommended by Mike and it looks promising so far

Right, more, I downloaded BlueGriffon as recommended by Liam and it is my favourite so far

Well, just no to them all, I got more and more pissed off with them all. So I  downloaded a fresh version of PageBreeze which still isn't perfect but it is now 17 times quicker than the old version

Sara-ing

So Sara phoned me s'morning and said "When and where?", I explained that gym was too much hard work because of my infections, so she came here to do loadsa practice, including a step and walk on narrow device which I managed

As we were leaving the house s'morning Gareth called 'Hello' to the new neighbours. They looked round, laughed and said 'Good hat', his Christmas one

Busy Morning

So we went to Morrison's first thing today and bought another weeks food.

In a bit we are off to gym to see The Beautiful Sara and see if she can up my exercises

And we have both been watching the snooker all night tonight.

Getting Better Again

And my leg seems a lot better even than yesterday. I have got 3½ days of antibiotics left to take so hopefully it actually will be better when I finish them, again

Quiet Day

We went to the Leisure Centre to ask them if it will be open tomorrow, went into town to see if the pub will be feeding us on Boxing Day, had a cuppa and went around the market for a look and bought myself a new hat when I was there, it matches my face.

Friends Again

So me and Freya were together tonight, for the first time since I pissed Freya off by not telling her the truth about why I couldn't make it last week

Today started off with Freya having to get stuck in and put up my Xmas tree for me

Then we we't out and ate dinner as a way of me saying sorry

Aargh Ripping

And someone leant me a Sigue Sigue Sputnik CD so I thought "Oh, rippings easy" but then I recalled I haven't ripped out under Windows 8.

I found it in the end....

Xmas Arrangements

And we made more Xmas arrangements today. That Paul chap was here so he said "This and this..." then phoned my Mum, spoke to her for ages then I spoke to her.

Lordy, I think it is coming together, this Xmas with my whole family thing

And we said to Mum, shall we phone restaurants and tell 'em extra person but she said "No, I have done it already"

Snooker

Aaaaaa, I watched the semi final of the GB championship tonight. They were playing first to 9 frames. So one chap was leading 8:3 earlier today, then it went 8:4, then 8:5, then 8:6, then 8:7 and he finally won a scary final frame 9:7 to be in the final. Just wow to both of them tonight

Mmmmmm

And I had my usual Friday night dinner of naan bread pizza and chips tonight. Gosh, I am so impressed with naan pizzas, they are delicious

And I have noticed that getting out of the car is easier again today with more antibiotic. It just needed a day or 3 afterwards 'til I had actually finished etc

And I think as my leg feels better again that I might try the FES for walking at gym today

Well we have put it on now, it is a bit cumbersome but I think it works, I have ust walked to the loo and back and it feels good.

My swelling was down enuf to try it

And when we got to gym the room was a mess and no class. Which I did grin at but I wanted to try my FES and I thought there would be a class somewhere else but apparently not

House

This house for sale arrived in my inbox and it doesn't look too bad, providing there is not a step up to the front door

We drove past, it looks lovely but there is a step up to the front door. Dunno about the back tho...

Out&About

So we had to go out s'morning to Aardvark and Morrison's (again) to try and stock up on food for Freya who is coming on Saturday as she was busy on Thursday and get my general Aardvark shopping too

HTML Crisis

And I got well stuck trying to do my HTML work today, I tried to do too much and not having an editor where you can check your work made it impossible

Botoxing

And I am off next to have my Botox injection to help me walk etc. I haven't been able to have my FES fitted since I got it as I have been on antibiotics for swollen legs but hopefully it is all finished now

AND no. After a conference they decided to phone 'em and make another appointment in January for my Botox, instead I went to the Drs and got more antibiotics, another week. We said it is so much better can we continue with the same so another week without Whiskey and month and a half without Bioness

Chopper

And about 10.30 s'morning Linda Smith - the toe chopper came around and did another good job sorting out my toenails

Trousers Off

So I was talking to my Mum yesterday and she said "Take your trousers off when you go to bed, help keep infections down". I thought "Erm..." and tried it last night.

I think I started keeping my trousers on because it used to be so difficult taking them on/off as it used to be hard balancing etc

I tried last night and it had become easy again so I guess I'd better change my going to bed habits and actually take my trousers off

New Windows 8

And we spent 6 - 8 hours today downloading a new version of Windows 8. So far it seems almost identical apart from a start button in the corner. Which doesn't bring up useful stuff like it used to but the same picture menu that the not button got before. It was such a large download that there must be loads of differences but that's the only one I have noticed so far

It's OK learning how to use 8 but it is way different, much more than between versions in the past

Alarm Clock

So I remembered to ask Timmy how to set my alarm clock into night-time mode, so no phone calls etc while I am asleep. I tried setting it in night-time and setting my second alarm, the one that I use to wake me up in the afternoon. No good, it was silent night-time mode. But upon investigation further we discovered that you can set the proper alarm clock more than once a day, which will go off and wake me up. So my alarm is still set for 8AM Monday to Friday and another alarm will go off in the afternoon to wake me up from sleep mode, so I can set my alarm-clock to not behave like a phone until I get up

And Timmy insists that I try this swimming thing again today. So in a bit we are off.....

DoubleFark - it was actually OK. The steps that I get in and out on were broken so they had to use a hoist to get me in and out but it went well after that. We did loadsa walks, exercises, swimming etc. and got a "proper" changing room

And for the last few days I have been watching snooker on't telly. I used to be a fan about 20-25 years ago and I haven't really watched it in between. But I may be becoming a fan again

Then s'afternoon I put on boots and socks and went to the gym to do exercises. I think today we learned that my second treadmill after cycling for 10 min. was too difficult for my right foot, so perhaps we should just do one, longer, treadmill session at the beginning

Panicy Morning

What a performance. A few days ago my laptop in the bedroom stopped connecting to the interweb. Gareth had a look yesterday to no avail, so TechnoTimmy got stuck in today. He had to tell it to get back to last weeks mode etc etc. We have been in there for a couple of hours but it works again now.

Phew

And I went back and switched it on just to check later and it immediately got on the 'net

Tea Time Shopping

So about 5 o'clock today me&Gareth finally headed out to Morrison's. I had in my head buy 1 or 2 SuperNoodles etc but they had buy 5 and get money off so I filled my cupboards a little more than intentioned

So I had to go to the hygienist at the dentist today. She was able to tell that I haven't brushed my teeth for 2 or 3 weeks just using mouthwash so that has to change. But apart from that she was reasonably happy just noticed that one small filling has come out for no reason so I have made an appointment in a fortnight to have that seen to

Denyse-ing

So Denyse came in s'morning to check up on Alex and while she was here said her husband works for a company and they say "55, 5" meaning after 55 minutes sat on the PC you need to walk about for 5 minutes and I have agreed and taken that on board, so every hour I walk up and down the house

Another AAARGH

And my PC crashed s'morning, so I had to switch it off and on again then it was asking me for a password to start which I haven't had to enter for ages so I had forgotten. On about the 27th try I was at last able to use my PC

And I have managed to reinstall Autoshutdown in this new PC too.....

Search Engine

Aargh, my default search engine had changed, we couldn't change it back until we got into Control Panel and deleted the add on dearch thingy, now it is back to normal

Shut Down

As the mouse on the RHS of the screen to bring up a shut down dialogue wouldn't work again tonight I investigated further. So all I need to do is remember (which may be why I am writing about it here) to press ALT then F4 and that will either shut down whatever programs I am using or bring up a shut down dialogue

So last night I downloaded and installed Solitaire on my phone.

So today I was in the loo, having a poo, and playing Solitaire at the same time

And today, while I was in the bath, I noticed (like I do every day) the size of the scar on my left knee. It was caused during 'my accident'. But that scar is so big and my left leg is the one that works. My right knee, with no scar that I can see is the one that causes my dependency on a wheelchair

Losing Weight

And I have lose 6 or 7 pounds since I was last weighed a fortnight ago. The start of a long process.....

Ahhhh

And I had to ask Ed what to clean my iPad screen with and he went and got one of the things that I moved between drawers today and thought "What are those for?" Ah they clean the screen well

Well I was getting well peeved that PageBreeze was getting well complex and not just remembering stuff, so I downloaded CoffeeCup Free Html Editor and it doesn't seemso wonky

And my trainee nurse MOS came in today, looked at the swelling on my legs and said "Roll your trousers up to keep it cool" so....

So last night I didn't wake up for a pee 'til about 7.30 s'morning. I thought "Shall I stay up or..." went back to bed and didn't wake up 'til half past nine. A lie in...

And it is Friday night, I have been well busy this week, and I can't have a drink to celebrate as I am on fscking antibiotics

Then we went back to gym, we told Sam that I couldn't do various stuff (1) but I still didn't rest for an hour

First of all s'morning we drove to Swansea and was fitted with my new FES. It seems impressive if a little complex. HTF that Paul can pass on details of how it fits etc

Then we rang the Doctors to make an emergency appointment for later as my foot was swollen again

Then we came back here and had lunch, during which the chappy phoned me from the desk sellers to say "It's here"

So after lunch we headed over to get the desk, me riding in Paul's van. Which I can now get in and out of without a breeze block to get up on

Then we took his van with desk in t'back to Drs, sat in his waiting room for 3/4 of an hour, told them about the swelling etc and they gave me more antibiotics for a f***ing week.

Then Julia phoned me to say that Freya was upset that I wasn't going to Iechyd Da tonight, she thought I was being selfish but I actually haven't had time for a nap today etc

A Smidge Excited

So I came out of the kitchen into my living/computer room after tea and as I caught site of tomorrows excitement I nearly cried

And I finished the day off (1) with an hour in't gym, doing treadmill, cycling, weights and more treadmill, to get my fitness up.

On It's Way

My new PC is on it's way, apparently.....

And gosh it arrived. I am leaving the box unopened 'til TechnoTimmy comes in tomorrow but it is here now

Busy Busy Day

First of all the chap came to fix my 'chair. He said "Erm..." but figured out how to do it. And he told us how to tighten the wheel when it comes off

Then we went to Morgan&Morgan and got a new desk. They said they will phone me on Thursday if it arrives then me and Paul can take his van to the shop and pick it up. Hopefully

Then Sara came to gym with me and said "Do this, try this...." had a conference with Sam and so on
Then we came back here for a late lunch, bath and nap

And then (more hopefully) we are heading oner to Staples in Swansea to pick up a 2 drawer filing cabinet, which may fit under the desk

And it is still only half past two!!!

And yes, we did head over to Swansea in the end, then got stuck in rush hour traffic big style, but when we finally reached the shop (in panic mode, it was so late) it turns out that it was open 'til 8pm anyway. But we did the business and purchased a filling cabinet which is currently next to my desk but hopefully it will fit under the new one, which we are hopefully getting on Thursday. My new PC is arriving tomorrow and......

And I finally got index.html right, it now has big name at the top and the whole picture on screen, and a gap at the top. I think it is best, because I made the print bigger etc then made the top level, just a gap, much smaller size than the rest. OK, it might not make much sense reading this but it works for me. Text with a space above and the rest of the page fits in one screen

So Freya came over tonight to see me and for tea.

She arrived 10 minutes before I got up from nap but watched telly 'til I got up

And she felt ill tonight so we had to take her home even before Gareth had done the washing up

More Reasons

And then s'morning we had to nip to Currys to pick up anti virus super stuff for my new PC then we nipped to Morrisons as I am way busy tomorrow, with the wheelchair fixer coming followedby the physio who is coming to an extra gym session with me

Poohing

So s'morning I was about to have breakfast when I thought "Ooh, dilemma, do I need to have a pooh first or second?" In the end I thought that perhaps I would be able to eat my muesli, leave my coffee in the pot then have a pooh. But I actually ate my muesli, had my coffee, had a few (loosing) games of Solitaire, then came in and sat at my 'puter. It is now 10.30 and I haven't been for a pooh. I think I am relearning how it feels when I need one, not just "Now" like I have been feeling for some years.
I only learned how to feel like this with pissing (well to realise that I did) a few weeks ago

Mending

So in amongst all the other stuff yesterday I bought another mending kit and when I was in the bath&bed Timmy got stuck in and mended the hole that was appearing in my big warm fleece

Out

And we went out for dinner, to Frankie and Bennys in town as we both had fiver off tickets

And we bumped into Freya on the way, on her way to the cinema to see Dr Who.....

So s'morning me and Timmy have to buy a PC online, go to shops to buy anti-virus etc.

BUT FIRST I have to make my new camera connect to the PC via WIFI

No joy on the connecting to the PC thing, there is a phone line open Mon-Fri so we will have to contact them next week

But as I am having a new PC in the next few days, wait and see

BUT we did manage this buying the PC thingy, gosh we spent loads and loads

Rugby

And we went to the pub tonight and it was rather full as Wales beat Tonga at the game of rugby

Which was nice to watch (even tho most points were scored in the first half before we arrived)

Gymming

And we (me and Ed) went to gym over lunchtime. Today I  did not have my splint on my leg so I had to extra concentrate but it just about worked.

Extra concentration with every step but I managed.

Until the very last step of the class an hour later

Aardvarking

So first thing s'morning me and Ed went and didn't buy as much as last week at Aardvark. Again I walked in until we were cuing to pay at which poing Ed brought my 'chair in the shop.

I did have a conversation with the owner about how last week there was a chap walking down the slope while I was waiting at the bottom and he said, in passing, "What a struggle it is without a handrail" so she said "OK, I will ask the builder instead of my husband..." so wait and see now

Desk Shopping

So s'afternoon me and Gareth nipped to Cross Hands on the way to Swansea looking for desks. So first of all we called into Morgan&Morgan who were closed on Sunday, last time I was looking. But I thought it was fine enough, I called off the trip to Swansea and said "Buy it here". We didn't buy anything today, we had a quote and will send it to Denyse and (more to the point) Anthony and he can get on the phone and argue down prices then pay

And Denyse has just phoned me and said "Go for it", the funds should be paid into my account in the next few days

Helping Out

So s'morning me and Gareth went to Trysordy where after a couple of hours work we are down to 12 more members entries to fill in.

So dunno if someone else might have finished it by the time I go back in 2 weeks, as I am having my new splint fitted next week.

Off In A Bit

We are off in a bit to buy a camera

What a performance. So on the way first we stopped at the docs and picked up another inhaler for me. Then we nipped to Morrison's to buy some small cheese rolls but they didn't have any. Then we drove to Swansea to Morfa Retail Park to find Currys. First of all we went into the Massive Morrisons shop to get some cheese rolls, then we went into Currys. Hayley wasn't working there today so we had to make do with a chap, but he heard what we were asking for no prob.

So we came away with a new digicam, a new USB lead, some new cards, a new case etc etc.

So when we got home I swapped USB leads and plugged it in to charge. The manual is on my PC now, just don't know what to do next. Waiting.....

What a performance. So I took a pic that was fine but I couldn't upload it. So I tried 3 times to download it, and failed every time, then SmallPaul actually read the instructions and gave me the CD with it on

Then I got the pics onto my PC but I want then going straight to the file of Pics which I think I found out how to eventually

I think I am pleased with it, when somebody is in to read the manual and instruct me further....

Gymless

So today a) we have to take the car in to be repaired and b) we are going to gym later, not to a class but just time to practice. I need that but hopefully (the beautiful) Sam will be there helping everyone, including me, I need to work on my stamina/fitness etc too

So we have done the first bit now. We took the car to Cawdor Cars and left it in, they said it will take a bit longer as it's the second service and they need to change extra stuff, so they will phone Timmy when it's done. Then we went into Wilkinson's and had a coffee and a mince pie then we got a taxi home. Later when they phone Timmy we will get another taxi back, pick up car and head to gym directly

Right, and we have done the picking up and gym now. It was a bit strange but I did 2 sessions on a treadmill and one session on a bike. Which wore me out but not too much

Aargh, brain injured

And I was watching on telly 5 minutes of a program about brain injured people in the world.

So tomorrow first of all we are gonna take the car in and leave it for repair for an hour, during that time at a guess we will be out having a coffee and a bun, at a guess
Then later in the afternoon I am going down to use the gym independently, although Sam will be supervising

Late Lunch

So we had a late lunch after the swimming, then soon to bed as I was rough then nowt to do for the rest of the day. We had Falafel's for dinner which I had bought in Aardvark at't weekend and they were delicious

Then we went out swimming in the leisure centre with Sara the physio who was trying to broaden what I do but I resisted

More Reasons To Shop At....

At about 10.30 s'morning Gareth took me to Morrison's to stock up on various food items. But I didn't get stir fry and noodles 'cos the date was too short. Possibly I will go back on Wednesday with SmallPaul. We had to go early as we were....

Better at pis*ing

So today in the car on the way back from Swansea I commented to Timmy how much longer I can wait between pisses now. It is almost/is better now, I went to Swansea, looked around shop, went for lunch and came back to Llangain before I needed a pee. Whereas a year ago we couldn't have driven the whole way to Swansea without needing to stop. He commented on how when I was in hospital I had a catheter, ever since then I have had to relearn, to teach my bladder, how to hold in pee

Out&About

Then s'afternoon I had a bit of a confusing conversation with Freya then I realised that we needed to nip to her house and pick her up. We got her and on the way to town I said "Where shall we eat?". I think Freya doesn't enjoy my cooking and so we went looking for somewhere to eat. The first place was too busy we would have to sit for at least an hour so we said "No ta" and went looking for somewhere else. It became clear why the first place was so busy, it was the only place in town open. Eventually we found somewhere else, Weatherspoons, and the food was actually really nice, at least mine was. Simple but nice

Then we took Freya home again, it was a bit early, but she would have come back here for half an hour then left

Shopping Trip

So today me and Timmy went desk shopping in Swansea, to perhaps no avail. We did go shopping for my brother who is coming over at Christmas too, before we ate lunch out

At a guess we will have to go to Ikea in Cardiff next Saturday to carry on looking at a bigger supply of desks.

Coincedentally it is Timmy who is scheduled to be working next Saturday so no problem passing information about the trip to someone else

Currys in Swansea

Then we went to the massive Curry's in Swansea. There most cameras had batteries so I was able to discuss my needs with a (beautiful) woman and we brought away a piece of paper containing all info. about this camera. So hopefully we will pass it on to Anthony then he will either buy 1 for me or (more likely, hopefully) give me the cash to buy it.

Then we went and had dinner in Pizza Hut across the way and then we were s'possed to go 5 minutes away and see Alex's band but Paul thought I looked so rough we just came home instead

One foot is cold

So I had my bath, got dried then got on my bed for a nap. None of me is undercover, it is warm enough. For all of me apart from my right leg. Which is cold from the knee down, rest of my leg is warm enough, rest of body and arms warm enough apart from my right shin (shrug).  

Shopping

So me and SmallPaul (a stranger, I haven't seen him for two weeks) nipped into Carmarthen to go shopping.

First of all we went into Curry's but most of their digital cameras had no battery, so the whole visit was useless.

Then we went to Carmarthen Camera Center which was a lot better and lookable at/playable with. I think we decided what to buy but I am a little put off. Apparently the photo will be higher quality but until I can play with it and plug it into my 'puter I won't know for sure

Blogging

And eventually me and Timmy together managed to get the width of my blog to just be one page, not having to go right or left to reach "New post" buttons

What A Difference

And we went back to gym at lunchtime and what a difference moving my right foot 5cm to the right when doing the up and down thing (OK, the down bit) has made. It is incredible, I can now get down confidently and easily.

It doesn't hurt so f*c*ing much, or at all, now

Aargh, now

And it has gone ½ an hour later....

OK, so Mozilla Firefox is refusing to keep my bookmarks and my banking details etc so I am back to using Google Chrome, not what I wanted but the best at pres...

Fark - it's just come back

And the "Do more Blogging" button has been missing from the corner of the page all day, I have had to log out and back in again to be able to update "http://hippoin.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/team-meeting.html" but last time I looked at my blog it was there.
