Forgetful

And today as my MOS hasn't been working since they moved and I said we would pick Freya up and despite the fact that I have been there once a week for a couple of months I had to phone Freya and say "Where do you live now?"

Us ABI sufferers sometimes forget stuff

Pizza

And we had our usual Friday Night Dinner of Pizza'n'chips which was as georgeous as last weeks. But today I thought "Flavour more/better" so I looked on that Interweb and it said "Tomato sauce, cheese and whatever ingredients you can think of" so actually mine is very good and tasty etc

Crisis

Oh, had a minor solitaire crisis but it's all OK now

Gym

And then we went to gym, it was as hard work as ever but I can really see how much better I am getting. And today it was fitted but I didn't switch on my FES at all

After gym instead of coming back here for a late lunch we headed off and bought some bigger enveloped so Timmy can post off references about me etc

So a really late lunch is in order, with late dinner to follow

And yes, we ate at 8.30 tonight.....

Stairs. Left right left right

And we went to Aardvark s'morning to do our shopping. As well as the usual I had to walk upstairs to get toothpaste. Gosh but it is easier than last time, which was easier than time before etc. Now I can just walk up left, right and back down with alternate feet the same

No, it's sinking

And the house we found on the interweb last night is sinking according to the estate agent, it needs ..... fixing, so no to that

FESing

So we are off in a bit to the FES headquarters to let them know how well I am getting in and ask them WTF my boots don't work anymore and can we have loadsa new connections etc etc

So we walked in and sat in there for about an hour before being seen for 10 or 15 minutes but he was really positive. And impressed with how I am helping the FES too. So he gave us loadsa connectors and bits so now my boots work too. But as I really needed my boots before as my ankle is so much better I can walk as well in my trainers

And at the end the chap did actually say that if I continue getting so much better perhaps one day I can give them my FES back as I won't need it anymore. He was the first person to suggest such a thing which took my breath away

Barefoot as it were

And s'morning before I had me sockings changed or my FES fitted I walked out the front door to the road, got my foodwaste bin back and carried it to it's placement and then walked back indoors.

Gosh I am so much better at walking unaided than I used to be......

Gymless

And because we have to have an early lunch today before heading off to the FES clinic later we won't have time for gym today.

Woe is me....

Early To Rise

So last night I was awake and looked at my clock at 2.30, 3.30, 4.30 etc then next thing I new it was 9.30 and I was still in bed. Later it emerged that I had somehow switched my alarm clock to OFF, dunno how or why

Chairless Day

So first of all Gareth phoned the chemist, they said "Yes, it's in" so we went there to pick it up, with no wheelchair.

Then on the way back we went to have another look at the house that's on the list, today we saw that it was big enuf so asked Timmy to make an appointment with the estate agents. "Spoken to the agents, its got tenants ‎atm. They getting back to me"

Then we came back here and had some lunch and updated the photo's on my 'puter, then went to gym (where I was only on the bike for 12 minutes but did 3 km in that time), again with no chair.

So I haven't seen my chair since last night, I have walked everywhere today. Which feels nice but possible

And more to the point I had no FES on today but I can feel if my ankle is behaving and it was

Old Men Can Still Think Fast

He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, a barbecue and some apple and peach trees.
One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over.
He grabbed a twenty litre bucket to bring back some fruit.
As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.
As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.
He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.
One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!'
The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.'

And we went and had a first look at a house tonight (I found it on a website) and it seems rather nice area wise etc. Timmy is gonna phone then tomorrow and see where we go from here

Hard Work

So I went to Drs/Chemist with no wheelchair and got my scripts. But one of the items that I ordered first wasn't there so we phoned the Docs and had to go back again, still with no wheelchair. So then as it was getting late I said “Gym?“ so we went off there still walking. I did loads of upper limb exercise to feed off my BoTox injection then loadsa miles on the cycle as I now have a reputation to maintain

Proud Dad

So now Toby has been accepted at Uni, Sam is already there doing a masters, next year Freya might be there too so all 3 of my kids will be at University at once

So Pleased

After having my bath it still makes me grin big style to be able to dry my right leg with my right hand

Swimming

So we decided today that as the pool was so busy last week when we went swimming that I would just exercise in't gym. When we got there it was nearly empty.

In gym we tried to do exercises to wotk my upper arms as the BoTox that I had last week should be kickink in. On the lifting up exercise I was able to do 3 or 4 fully up with my right arm and TinyTimmy commented how he was having to help me lift it last time whereas he didn't help me at all today

And I am doing this so I can learn to do it from my phone too

Stories To My Phone

And I had a load of SciFi Short Stories that I downloaded onto my PC and I couldn't figure out how to get them onto my phone so I can listen away from PC. So Timmy came in today, said "You need to install......" and now it works, I transferred my 10 stories to my phone, it just worked

AND I transferred them wirelessly, didn't have to plug owt in, just pressed Transfer and it did

Slowly slowly catchy monkey

So s'morning I was walking with my 'stick in my right hand, thinking “This is so slow” but, as SmallPaul pointed out last night, it used to be really slow walking with my stick in the other hand too. Used to be

First Look

And we went 10 minutes away from Carmarthen and had a first look at a property and dunno, it might be too small but I won't know until Timmy phones them tomorrow and makes an appointment to look

Reach It

So today I confirmed that we have overcome one of the issues with my new car. When I put my seat right back (as we had to do on the old car) the bleeding "hand-rest" was in the way meaning I couldn't put the seatbelt on with my right hand, it necessitated a lean over and stick it in manoeuvre. But we moved the seat forward by 2 clicks and I can now reach the belt with my right hand

Warmer

And I noticed today that the central heating has switched itself off once again so it must be warmer today than it was yesterday

New Shopping Day

And me and Paul went and did my "new shopping day" at Morrison's s'morning. We only had 3 or 4 items to buy but I walked into, all around and back out, even tho I had no FES fitted on my right foot

Socks

And I tried to put some socks on today for the first time in months (usually my staff have to put on my Sockings first) and by gord but it is a lot easier now than it was last time I tried, I can now put both socks on without any help

Heating

And the central heating indoors has switched the radiators on again today for the first time in months so the temperature must be dropping again

Fixed The Armrest

Well today I was sitting in the car cursing the armrest that gets in the way and stops me trying to use my right hand to put my seatbelt in place and thought "OK, if I move the seat forward 2 notches I can use it then, but can I still get in and out of the car?", so I now know that I can get out and it didn't occur to me to try getting back in, so I won't know that until I go out next but hopefully......

Well Done

And I have just heard tonight, Toby, my first born, who fscked it up when I had my accident, he was being rebellious etc and fscked up school etc, he has just been accepted onto an BSc (hons) at Uni in England

No Side Effects

And I had my injection a few hours ago now and it doesn't hurt or owt so I think I might be known as a lucky bugger...

Shop

So then s'morning we went to Aardvark where I did the most of my weeks shopping.

Then after a put shopping away trip home it was perfectly timed to head for the gym, where Gareth and Sam were in control and it went well

Then we had to head back to Aardvark to get the brain food we had forgotten s'morning

Jab in my bum

First thing s'morning, after my pooh etc, we had to head out to the doctors surgery where a nurse injected my bum with another months Bollock Builder cream. We enquired about having the 3 month injection next time but we have to see a doctor first

Poohing

So I got up s'morning not needing owt, sat down at table, ate my breakfast and now I can feel it, I need a pooh. I couldn't feel it 8 minutes ago but now I am sure...

Manyana

So after today's injection wasn't too bad I am scared that tomorrow's will be.......

Is It

And lying in bed today wiithout my eyepatch on I suspect that my right eye is moving back into line, getting better all by itself

Arm Today

And we have to travel to Neath today to get the injection in my right wrist/arm....

Well, that's done, my BoTox injections just in my right arm. It hasn't made a difference yet but t'is dun now. He had some trubble finding the sites but in the end injected my wrist, bicep and sho‎ulder

Grumble Again

I know I have complained before but it p*sses me off so much... So here I am lying in bed for my nap, naked, no covers over me, all warm enough apart from the toes on my right foot, the one that was nearly amputated after my accident

Late Birthday

As it happened Freya txted me s'morning and said "Wana take me out for a late birthday dinner, like u promised?" so we will pick her up later and have some fun

And it turned out to be rather fun, in the end

Quiet Morning

So I am having a quiet morning ATM, drinking a cuppa tea that Alex made then about lunchtime we will take ourselves to the swimming pool and hopefully do a few lengths etc

As it happened we couldn't. When we got there the pool was absolutely full of kids so instead we went into the gym and did some exercises.

Mmmm, definately possible

So s'afternoon me and Gareth took ourselves to Pontiets to look at another house. It looks promising, 10 minutes away from supermarket and there is a lovely view out the back. The only thing against it is perhaps the area is a bit too working class but I dunno if that will make a difference. I will ask Denyse to make an appointment for next time she is here

New Card

And today was the first time we tried buying anything with the new petty cash card. So I was a bit nervous handing it over but it just worked.  So all is well once more

So we nipped out to the market to buy another mop and bucket then went gymwards on the way home. I did all my exercises but on the "pushing up weights" machine I was really struggling with my right arm. Injection to improve that, hopefully, on Thursday.

But as we left the house there was heavy rain, once we had got in and started the car the sun was shining from a blue sky, by the time we were at gym it was raining again. The weather is traveling really quickly

Shooting a video

So s'morning I tried taking a video on my phone and sending it to my PC and putting it online. First of all when I entered the title of the video it said "Save...." but after some more research it works now. It isn't an exciting video but it is just me doing all stages of it by myself, not having to shout "Help" at any stage

Warmer

So as I was wearing a sweatshirt yesterday today I took it off again and left it lying about,
it is much warmer now Bertha has passed

Drying

And it is such a novelty that I better mention it again. I can now dry my right leg with my right hand

Ooh that's a bit exciting for me

Sara-ing

Then Sara the Physio came s'morning and did loadsa walking back and forward practice, keeping my pelvis straight with my 'stick in both hands etc.

I didn't particularily enjoy the exercises but I do enjoy feeling better

So s'morning me and TechnoTimmy got stuck in to trying an email client, not the BT site that I have been using for.... ages and it seems to be working with all 3 of my accounts simultaneously

Walkies

And I have been practicing more than usual walking with my right hand s'morning even tho I have been doing much practice every other day. But it still makes me wonder, everything is more upright etc but it feels so unusual for me, still

Calmer

And it seems like a warmer windless day now, that Bertha thingy has passed now

Winterish

And this evening for the first time in a couple of months I had to put another garment on over my T-shirt

Perhaps it's this Bertha thingy and it will be warm again tomorrow, wait and see

Cold

So I have just had a nice warm bath and I am currently lying on my bed to have a nap. So my left arm is warm enuf, my right arm, both legs (and my bottom etc) I am all warm enuf apart from the toes on my right foot.

At a guess it is circulation related but it all comes back to my accident

Ice Cream Style Stuff

So just now I was having a treat, I had some frozen yoghurt stuff which looks like ice cream, tastes like ice cream but as far as I can read there are about half the calories of ice cream.

Am I right?

Early Shop

So today as it was in my timetable to go shopping s'afternoon we decided that as it wasn't raining we should go s'morning, we did and I was in the kitchen putting it away when it started to rain

The sun's back out over a nearly cloudless blue sky again by now (2.20pm) so just..... gerd nose

And I have just played the first game of the day and I won.

New Routine

So today, for the 4th or 5th Sunday in a row, we are gonna be learning about Neil's new routine. Nowadays Neil goes Supermarket Shopping(1) on a Sunday rather than a Monday when I am usually going swimming. OK tomorrow I won't be, Sara Davies is coming to see me at shopping time but I will go today as eg I need to have a nap in the afternoon and other business

(1) Which is minimal but they don't sell eg bread rolls in Aardvark

Better

Gosh, well I am getting better even if it is sometimes difficult to express in words. OK I just had a bath. Got out, standing in the bathroom. First of all I was bending over to dry both shins/calves without having to hold on for balance, summat I couldn't do a month or 6 weeks ago. THEN I was able to dry my right leg with my right hand, summat I haven't been able to do for nearly 12 years

Shopping

And we went out today and tried to find the shop on the corner of the market where I bought eye patches in the past but couldn't find it anywhere. We looked all around town and couldn't find any pirate eye patches

Dinner

And I made our usual Friday night dinner and had naan bread pizza and chips. Just yum yum in the extreme

Gym

And went back to an actual Gym class today and it was run by Sam. And when I was there she got me to do that getting down to the floorband then back up thing and even I am astonished at how much easier it is now. And she commented on how much thinner I am which was nice. Even the stepping up and over thing is so much easier now.

I was torn, I really like the benefits of gym but doing the actual exercises is mind boggling dull

Aardvarking

So we went to Aardvark and did most of my weeks shopping. Will go to supermarket on Sunday and get the rest

Biting Nails

So after breakfast I got stuck into a session of biting my nails. But it hasn't been a 'bad habit' for some years now, I looked at my hands, thought "Them" and bit 3 of my finger nails, so now they are all of acceptable length

And now I won't bite them again until they need it

Short Term Memory Improving

So I got up  s'morning and left my bedroom, I thought "On the way to kitchen got my iPod thingy from where it has been plugged in in't living room", got it and then opened the door into the kitchen

• So my short term memory is better about some stuff some of the time

Gym

Then after lunch we went to gym. Oh such fun, but I did my exercises and cycling

Bungalowing

So s'morning we had nowt to do so we went over exploring an empty house which actually seems to fit all my criteria, including price. And while we were parked out the front we met one of the neighbours and it seemed pleasant

Multi Shopping

When we were on our way back from the house we called into 2 shops, first of all to Tesco for some more sweet potato oven chips then to Farmfoods to pick up more Linda McCartney and there we discovered big tubs of Thorntons Ice Cream for next to nothing so I had to buy a couple of those.

I have just had my first half a tub and it was delicious 

House

And we popped up to look at this new house tonight, it looks nice but it is miles away from anywhere. Dunno if that would be a problem for me, I don't see any friends here, but dunno, I am a bit scared to invest in somewhere even more isolating

Got It

And we went and got my new car s'morning. It is good, slightly bigger than the old one, ultra filtered Diesel, and I can get in and out no problem

Gym-ing

And about lunchtime we decided to take on a busy gym and it was OK. First of all we got Sam (yes, she is still back) to add some other machines to my key that is supposed to measure how much I do, then went off and did 3 machines then 20 minutes cycling.

Right Hand

So earlier I was walking with my walky-stick in my right hand. Which I am a bit gob smacked about, yes it is slower etc but I just couldn't manage it a few weeks ago, a few months ago, a few years ago or even 15 years ago

PIN

And Denyse emailed me today with my PIN for the car. Not too excited but...... I feel a bit strange. I was given a car 3 years ago, given, and I have used and abused it, now I will give it back and be given another

Bankers

And we had to go to Lloyd's TSB and tell 'em that my petty cash card had stopped working. She looked at it in a machine and said "Yes, will order u a new one, confirm your address?" but there was no confusion with Anthony's address and name etc, so I should get it in a few days. So I will have to transfer cash to my account to cover the deposit for my car and pay it on my card but that's fine

Hooray

And we went swimming today. (*****). Oh it was such fun being in a way too busy swimming pool with loads of kids. But we did it, 4 lengths and loads of stretches and balances which even impress me

Out

And we went out tonight in SmallPaul's new van as I don't have enough diesel in't car and am too tight fisted to fill it up, it goes back in 2 days and I will get a new car then. Anyway we headed to Haverford West which is where SP lives as he had seen a closed down shop where the C had come off the sign, leaving it a bit more appropriate for me

Shopping

So me and SmallPaul went shopping s'morning as it seems a bit better on Sunday. But the fresh naan bread would be off but as we had already looked in the frozen section we had that instead

Cooking

And I was cooking with my right hand much more tonight again, it still doesn't work as well or as comfortably as my left hand but it is so much better than it was a time ago so we need to keep practising

Roasting

And we are having roasted veg for dinner again tonight but the veg have been changing over the last few weeks, different ones coming into season etc

Potential

So me and Gareth nipped out to have a first look at a property, it is a bit out of the way but has potential. Dunno..... but it is cheaper because it is out of the way....

Then we saw another which had potential, then another, all 3 have potential if they are not leaping out at me. And one of the last 2 was in a street called Gelli Aur (Golden Grove) which was the name of the place I went to college and did my HND

Making Pizza

So I made pizza for dinner tonight (as I always do on a Friday). Now I was grating cheese when I suddenly realised, I was using my right hand!! So it is becoming habit again, after how many years?

Spending Loads

And before that we had gone to Aardvark, parked in a bay a bit up the street and appeared at shop on my own two feet. And today as well as apple and banana I brought some dates which are proving delicious as this meals fruit/veg section

She's Back

So then in gym class Sam was back. Gareth was still "running" the class with her assisting and it went well. I got down on the floor (second attempt) which she has never seen and she was impressed with my general movement and weight loss. And I think I was still turning up for class in my 'chair when I saw her last whereas today I went to gym without it

Got Cash

And my new petty cash arrived s'morning and I am struggling with "Not taking up their expensive/important time reading emails from Neil that just say Ta"

I'm So Excited

Tonight we are going out to... (noisy link)

And it was good, someone who wasn't there last month said "How long is it since I saw you?" as I wasn't there month before that..... just generally it was well good and did include a new singer who wasn't in the habit of singing in public but was excellent

AND they were proud to tell me, they had a vegetarian (actually vegan) bitter beer on sale. VBG, it's good to make a difference

Denyse-ing

So Paul had to do my feet early today as when he is still in handover Denyse might arrive.

She is bringing my will for me to sign and I wanna ask her about digicam courses

Phew she is gone now. We signed my will and about a dozen other pieces of paper but now it's done and witnessed. Denyse talked about me doing the photography course, with someone videoing it and with a special round neck cam which is designed for folk with memory issues and apparently it works dead well

Big Walky

And because gym was full of kids doing some kind of swimming exhibition today me and SmallP went for a walk over the Pont King Morgan footbridge in Carmarthen. Then when we walked all the way to the other side we turned back and crossed it again. It was good exercise. SP pushed my wheelchair and I didn't sit in it until half way back when I sat down for 5 minutes, didn't move and got back on my feet and walked back to the car

Early Gym

It wasn't in my diary to go 'til later but as it' the summer holidays we went to gym over lunchtime today. I did 3 stretching/lifting exercises then my 20 mins on the bike. It is still difficult but definately easier than in the past

And once more we left the house with no wheelchair in't boot

And while I was there I bumped into Sam, yes, she's back. She commented on how much thinner I look today as opposed to the 2 months ago when she saw me last, she commented on "Where's your wheelchair?" and how cruel she was gonna be to me on Friday

Right Hand Again

I tried walking s'morning with my 'stick in my right hand but it proved impossible. Later, after Alex had fitted my FES I tried again and it was well possible. Dunno if it is the FES making a difference of whether I was just trying before I had woken up properly, I will see tomorrow.

But for now, in the house, I am walking with my walking stick in my right hand. My posture is better etc, it is just better

AND it seems to have improved my "walking more uprightly, not leaning over one way" when holding my stick in my left hand (see the pic of me holding it straight down), so......

Here we go....

Not Buying That

So it's on the market, possibly a bit too dear even for me, and an anti bungalow, so no ta, not this year

Wow

Just wow, what a session with the physio lady. First of all she has been working with me for 2 years and she said that my walking today was the best she has ever seen.

Then after a bit more walking practice she got me to start walking with my walking stick in my right hand. What a difference, I am more upright, better at walking (although much slower for now) just WOW, what progress. So she said "Practice this and I will see you in a fortnight"

AM

And it is a quiet morning today, then after lunch the Physio lady is coming to see me and no doubt.......

Out

So me&Paul went out tonight, to see how far away Kidwelly was.  Then we drove thru 3 town centers looking for an open shop to buy some ice cream which we found in the in Spar in Kidwelly, after looking elsewhere. And it was half melted anyway

Quiet Day

A quiet day. So s'morning Paul said "Supermarket today?" not knowing that we had to sneak in on Friday

Well it's working in the kitchen now, I haven't been on my PC yet but...

And I have just (had a poo then) come into the living room and it all works, so shrug

Aargh

So on my  PC and the iPad in the kitchen my webspace has disappeared but on the iPad in my bedroom, it still works. Puzzled

Quiet

So nowt on today, a quiet day

Super-dooper-market

So while we were at the supermarket s'afternoon a chap came to try to deliver summat. I had asked them to leave it and they did. So my new blueberry protector is protecting them

Aardvark-ing

So s'morning is my biggest shop trip to Aardvark, followed by a gym class. Dunno if Sam is back this week or next but......

Well they sold me loadsa stuff, so ta to them. As we were advised by Timmy we park on the double yellow lines outside the shop, walk in, do my shopping and walk back to the car

Then just before lunch we had to go back to the "Last Samless" class at gym. I think that she hasn't seen me for 2.5 months she is going to be astonished at what I can do now. I was being a bit astonished myself since last weeks  class

And I had my FES fitted but didn't switch it on today

And then as I have to go to the supermarket to pick up some blueberries later (they had none in Aardvark s'morning) I figure I might as well do my whole weeks shop, I think I will be able to get stuff with a long enuf date

Gym (again)

So I went to gym and 20 minutes on the bike, it was well hot. But I noticed again that my knee isn't turning in, like it wasn't when Paul took a photo on Tuesday

And I didn't have my FES fitted, but we went without my 'chair and I walked in

Heat

So it was so hot last night that I took my trousers off before bed. But that only let out about 8 inches of leg between my boxer shorts and my sockings
