Then we went to pick Freya up from her school today and we had a pleasant time

Gymming

Well we went to gym and I struggled onwards. But I noticed that the bicycle travels faster if I am flirting with someone who works there...

He Fixed It

And I said to Timmy that my wheelchair was making a noise, he went into the bedroom and fetched it, when I sat in it and moved he could hear it, he looked closely and said "That nut, holding the wheel on, is just finger tight", tightened it up and it seems silent once more.

It is still a bit noisy at lunchtime(1) but not half as noisy as it was before, there is another enormous nut which he will bring a bigger spanner for on monday....

(1) When I am using it as I am so exhausted after gym...

Bother

Alex has remembered that we are supposed to go swimming on a Wednesday...

FESless

So last night and today I don't have my FES fitted but just wow, my right foot is learning how to 'not turn over' all by itself, the FES is teaching it so well etc

Not Gym

So then Gareth suggested we head off instead of going to gym today. "YES" I shouted and we headed off to Saundersfoot. We parked up at one end of the front, walked the whole way along, there I sat down to have an ice cream then got up and walked all the way back. Gosh but I can walk so much more now if I concentrate

Different Dinner

So we are gonna have my version of Friday Dinner tonight (as we were out last Friday) but as we had loadsa chips when we were out tonight's Friday Food will be Pizza (from Naan bread) and Sweet Potato Oven Chips, a slightly less fattening dinner

So SmallPaul came in s'morning, it was pleasant to see him(17) but against my wishes he had recalled that we go swimming on a Monday, yes, he had kit so we went. It was incredible, even I can realise how much I am getting better but it still is no fun

On the way back then we stopped at the house we have been looking at and Paul sounded positive enough so we better contact the estate agent

Then we popper to More Reasons To Shop At.... and got some Ecover Washing Powder, a birthday card for Toby etc

And this morning a MOS is coming in to see if I remember what he looks like as it is so long since I saw him. He has been away abroad on holiday and seeing in some factory to buy summat for his wife's business.....

Right Knee

I stood up from my wheelchair and moved towards the car s'morning. A minute later Gareth said "Whassamadda?" as I was still standing up. I was bending my right knee and frankly being astonished at how much it will bend now, how much better it is.

So I saw 3 of these dying off butterflies yesterday then today there was a Red Admiral in my living room!!

Friday Food

Then today we are having the food that I usually cook after shopping on a Friday but as my folks were here we went out instead so tonight we are gonna have my weekly highlight of Roasted Veg

No sorry, that's usually Saturday food we usually have pizza and chips on Friday, that is tomorrows food

Lookin'

Then after lunch we are heading off to take a first glance at that house I found yesterday then off to that T place to buy some things that I couldn't ask my mother for, sweet potato oven chips and Green & Black's Organic Ice Cream

And the first viewing of the house it looked worth chasing up. A bit small, a bit of work needs doing but really cheap that we can perhaps extend and update it within budget. Wait and see tho....

Bye bye family

So my family came over s'morning, then we all fitted into Betty2 and went off shopping. Then we came back here, had a brew and failed to do the crossword between us then it was time for them to all head off back to the airport to fly to Belfast

Walkies

And today I was settling onto my bed for my nap when the door blew noisily, bang bang bang, so I got up to shut it tight. I walked, only perhaps 4 or 5 steps to reach it, but the fact that I had no wheelchair or walking stick with me just seems impossible, but it's what I did

Evening Out

Then s'evening we went out to somewhere we hadn't thought of, I asked Alex and he found somewhere I have been before but haven't been for months, as in I had forgotten it existed but I had a rather nice meal, the same as Alex and David ordered!!

So meet the wrinklies tomorrow at Morrisons when it opens (11am) then they have to leave within a couple of hours so dunno what we will do then

BotGsns

So before lunchtime we headed over to National Botanic Gardens where first of all I walked all the way up the hill, without even stopping for a rest. It is 14 years since I have been able to do that but it seems easy now, today, so obviously my progress is incredible.

Out For Dinner

So today Freya txted me and said "Meet you at..... at..... a time" so my parents went ahead to Tafarn Tanerdy and when we got there it was a bit delicious and about half the menu was vegetarian so me and Freya were happy. But we both ordered the same thing, and both finished it, veggie lasagne.

And we got there, I stood up and walked from the car indoors and sat in a proper seat until we had finished

Gym

Then after an hour we met them at Gym and went into my weekly class. Gosh they were amazed at how much I can do now. Sam told me to do the getting down and back up from the floor which I did and I think it really impressed my mother

So now they have gone off somewhere and I am gonna bath and nap then pick up Freya and go out for a meal

Shopping

Then s'morning me and Gareth headed into Aardvark to do most of the weeks shopping. Outside, waiting, we found my parents and brother, and they were rather impressed as I walked up stairs to fill my basket, left, right, left, right I did which I couldn't manage last time I saw them

Visitors

Then later my parents and my big brother arrived. It was nice, we had a chat then went to the hotel where they are staying and had a meal

Sara-ing

So then Sara the Physio came round and said "Shall we go out?", I said no and explained what I wanted. So she said first exercise your Ham Strings so bendy bendy leg etc. Which was dull but it seems to be improving me so I shouldn't complain too loudly. But then she said "Where are your ankle weights?" Alex fetched them and promptly I was able to walk from one end of the room to another with no walking stick!! I feel it is just incredible, it is 13 years since I was able to do that, it is just a GETTING BETTER stage that I had no vision of ever being able to do, ever.

Nastics

And as Denyse wasn't coming s'morning that meant there was less pressure on time so we went to Gym and did 3 loads exercises and 20 minutes on the bike, came back here and had an early lunch and then waiting for Sara Physio to come. She did phone me s'morning and said "Shall we go to The Botanic Gardens and practice walking?" but I had to say "No, that's Saturdays option" so.....

Bitter Tears

And Denyse has just emailed me to say that she won't be able to Skype me later so she will txt me when she is available. I am trying not to cry too loudly because one knows that whatever gets in her way will probably be really important to one of her other clients so.....

Long(est) Walk

So this afternoon me and Alex headed into town to try "going for a walk". We parked in Wilko and headed down Merlin's Walk towards town. Alex was pushing my 'chair as last time I sat down and rested once or twice along the way. But this time I walked the whole length of Merlin's Walk, across the road and along about 3 shops to Cafe Nero where I walked in, Alex folded my 'chair up and put it in the corner, and I sat in a proper seat at a proper table and had a brew. Then I walked back out and started off back to the car, again Alex had to push my empty chair. The whole way back to the car, it was the first time I have managed to do that whole trip on my own two feet

Woe is me, so when Alex was coming into work with me today he got half way here and remembered "Oh no, I've forgotten my swimming trunx and towel".

And as he is too tight fisted to stop at Spar and buy some more......

So do you think I should tell him to go to gym instead? But as he reads this he might realise soon....

Interweb Crisis

So s'morning I thought I would update my BLOG while eating my breakfast, but the iPad(1) was refusing to connect to the Interweb. So I restarted it and it still wouldn't work. So I left it in discust and went into the living room and sat at my PC. And the Interweb wasn't working here either. Then I heard some loud swearing coming from the office as Gareth had typed loads of report and pressed send, it had gone from their PC but no Interweb so it had disappeared. So I walked into the hall and pressed the "Reset" button on the bottom of the router and it all seems to work again. Eventually

(1) But I woke up s'morning, got dressed, walked towards the kitchen for breakfast but on the way there I nipped into the living room to unplug my iPad from charging and take it back into the kitchen to use it. So obviously certain aspects of my memory are improving. Just certain aspects as I couldn't remember why I had typed this "(1)" into my blog..... so I deleted it and half an hour later recalled  and came back to put it right

Gymming

Then after lunch we nipped to't gym for a session. I did 3 exercises then got stuck into my 20 minute session on the bike. As someone had been negative about how much harder it is to cycle again after stops (as some chemical builds up in the stopped muscle)  I tried going a bit slower but keeping it up today. I only had one stop for breath in my whole cycle session

Petty Cash Shopping

So s'morning we went to the shop that used to be called Wilkinson's but it is now just known as Wilko according to all their publicity. There we bought some loo cleaner etc so we can show my parents what a good supply we have

And after such a hectic day I haven't had time to go to gym, nearly crying

Tooth Out

And after such a hectic day I have to go back to the Dentist to have my tooth out, the one that she did so much work on a few days ago

Just wow, when she looked at my tooth she said “It's your bit that broke, not mine, I can fix that“ and proceeded to fix my tooth, not take it out

So I now have an invisible tooth, there are some roots that were mine but all the rest has been built up by a very groovy dentist. All, built up

Dr Phoned Me

Then we waited for ages for the doctor to phone me about my jab, waited until lunchtime, he phoned, I was just in by the fridge when I said "Hello" but the mobile signal there is rubbish and the call cut off. He left me a message to say "Returning your call" so I had to try and phone back. After 18 calls we actually spoke, I said "Can I change my Testosterone to a 3 monthly jab", he said "Dunno, I will look into it" and that was that. So on the 19th when I go for my next jab I will be able to see if he has found some of the 3 monthly stuff that I was told about by someone else.

Practicing

And despite it being well busy today I had time to practice writing links on the txt in Webpages that I had been struggling to recall as they have changed the technique in my chosen editor

He Fixed It

So first of all the wheelchair fixer chap came and replaced the bit on the back and 2 castors

Hectic Day

And I have got loadsa tasks to do today, loads, but no one has arrived yet

Shoppin' Sunday

And as we are learning to keep up with my new routine so we will go to More Reasons To Shop At... and get my few pieces of shopping that I require after it opens at 11 but when I can still buy lunch

And we went off in the car with no w'chair after I said to Edweena that I better take it as we have to go to the back of the shop. He said "No, don't be silly" and he was right, I need to accept how much better I am at walking than I was last year

So I have my FES fitted when I need it for walking etc

Bare Feet

And Edweena is in charge of my well being tonight and tomorrow and he has decided that I shouldn't have my sockings on tonight.

Blueberries

And I went out by myself and opened the zips and was able to pick just 2 Blueberries but they were a bit delicious. But I think they need watering again tonight

Wrong Way Round

Then bacause Timmy had to speak to Denyse at great length, then we spoke on Skype to make up for her not being able to come last night we had to go to gym before Aardvark. But it went well, for most of the class I had my FES switched off and just got stuck in.

Then afterwards we nipped to Aardvark where I did most of my weeks shopping.

So after all that it was nearly 3 o'clock before we actually ate some lunch

Tooth Broke Again

And after my trip to the dentist yesterday my tooth broke again when I was half way thru eating breakfast. So made another appointment to have it taken out on Monday.

So I have fitted my Autographer, as I am going to the dentist shortly, not an every day event so....

And wow but they had to drill out loads and loads of well filled tooth and build it back up. Good lord, but it's done

So someone from West Country just phoned me and said "Denyse won't be able to come today, she having a family emergency.... All is OK but...." so waiting for a call later

Memory

So I started using the Autographer that belongs to Denyse, I am seeing how I get on with it before possibly buying one. So first time we used it I immediately checked the photos but apparently you need to leave them for a couple of days before checking, as an aid to ones memory so that is what I did with the second lot, I put them on my PC but am not looking until tomorrow

Gym-ing

So we went to gym before lunchtime today and did 2 lifting exercises and then, for the first time in my life, I did over 4 km in my 20m session on the exercise bike

And I found a copy of HHGTTG episode 1, just the first episode and I am really enjoying it. Landlord of the pub had just called "Last orders" as the world is about to end according to one of his customers

Aargh, when I saw him I recalled what he was called (but my spelling was a bit weird) "Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz"!!!

Walkies

So me and TT set off to check out the house from indoors s'morning. Timy said "No point taking your wheelchair" but I said "Yes, even if I am walking check out door width" which we did, he pushed my chair inside the house but I didn't sit in it. The house seems nice but the only thing is the width of doors, dunno, will get some more advice on it.

Then before we came back for lunch we went to gym where I cycled much further than I have managed before, nearly 4Km we managed today

And walking out of gym afterwards I bumped into that Ruth which was nice. I wasn't walking when she saw me last but I was today. She was spectating while her son was in't pool

T'was Broken, but I fixed it

Last night when I was going to bed my bedside lamp had blown. I thought “Shall I ask for help? Naw too late” turned the overhead light off and felt my way to bed.

S'morning I got up, thought “Where's the spare?“ and changed it and fixed it before I had breakfast or even saw TechnoTimmy

Bank Holiday

So as it's a bank holiday we didn't go swimming today but did a session at the gym. Today I cycled 3.44km so I am getting better really quickly

And as I was about to email Caroline and say "Where's my dole(*)?" I remembered that it is a bank holiday and I should get it tomorrow

(*) Or whatever the equivalent I get now

Lap Top-ing

And Timmy has just been on't phone to Ed and I think basically they agreed that the staff lap top is f*cked and they have tried anti-virus so perhaps I better fork out for a new one

Well as TechnoTimmy is here at present and trying loads of stuff dunno....

Well it appears to have been a piece of malware that had got in somehow, so fingers crossed now

And watching telly, because my iPad wouldn't let me, about to go to bed when HHGTTG episode 1 came on. Wow, I recall but not the style &c

Dentistry

And at lunch when I bit into a small granary roll and a big bit of one of my "been f*cked, mended now" teeth just fell clean off

So today we had to nip to Morrison's and pick up the 4 things that were on my list, but first of all we nipped out to Trevaughan (Where? I said. About 4 miles out of town up Water St they said) to first look at another house that Timmy found. (Didn't he find this one too?). So many of my lights have been lit, it looks good, well out in the country but still only 4 miles away from Carmarthen.

So Timmy will phone the estate agent tomorrow

And Ed did say Re front step "But you can walk now, handrail..." but Denyse is being more pessimistec about me getting old....

And we left my 'chair indoors, walked once we left...

Nursey Nursey

And last night Ed, my qualified nurse part time carer, didn't put my sockings on as he said "My legs are so well" it will be OK not to occasionally

Which ties in with what the FES expert said a few days ago....

Cold Again

And the central heating switched itself on last night which I do find reassuring etc

Forgetful

And today as my MOS hasn't been working since they moved and I said we would pick Freya up and despite the fact that I have been there once a week for a couple of months I had to phone Freya and say "Where do you live now?"

Us ABI sufferers sometimes forget stuff

Pizza

And we had our usual Friday Night Dinner of Pizza'n'chips which was as georgeous as last weeks. But today I thought "Flavour more/better" so I looked on that Interweb and it said "Tomato sauce, cheese and whatever ingredients you can think of" so actually mine is very good and tasty etc

Crisis

Oh, had a minor solitaire crisis but it's all OK now

Gym

And then we went to gym, it was as hard work as ever but I can really see how much better I am getting. And today it was fitted but I didn't switch on my FES at all

After gym instead of coming back here for a late lunch we headed off and bought some bigger enveloped so Timmy can post off references about me etc

So a really late lunch is in order, with late dinner to follow

And yes, we ate at 8.30 tonight.....

Stairs. Left right left right

And we went to Aardvark s'morning to do our shopping. As well as the usual I had to walk upstairs to get toothpaste. Gosh but it is easier than last time, which was easier than time before etc. Now I can just walk up left, right and back down with alternate feet the same

No, it's sinking

And the house we found on the interweb last night is sinking according to the estate agent, it needs ..... fixing, so no to that

FESing

So we are off in a bit to the FES headquarters to let them know how well I am getting in and ask them WTF my boots don't work anymore and can we have loadsa new connections etc etc

So we walked in and sat in there for about an hour before being seen for 10 or 15 minutes but he was really positive. And impressed with how I am helping the FES too. So he gave us loadsa connectors and bits so now my boots work too. But as I really needed my boots before as my ankle is so much better I can walk as well in my trainers

And at the end the chap did actually say that if I continue getting so much better perhaps one day I can give them my FES back as I won't need it anymore. He was the first person to suggest such a thing which took my breath away

Barefoot as it were

And s'morning before I had me sockings changed or my FES fitted I walked out the front door to the road, got my foodwaste bin back and carried it to it's placement and then walked back indoors.

Gosh I am so much better at walking unaided than I used to be......

Gymless

And because we have to have an early lunch today before heading off to the FES clinic later we won't have time for gym today.

Woe is me....

Early To Rise

So last night I was awake and looked at my clock at 2.30, 3.30, 4.30 etc then next thing I new it was 9.30 and I was still in bed. Later it emerged that I had somehow switched my alarm clock to OFF, dunno how or why

Chairless Day

So first of all Gareth phoned the chemist, they said "Yes, it's in" so we went there to pick it up, with no wheelchair.

Then on the way back we went to have another look at the house that's on the list, today we saw that it was big enuf so asked Timmy to make an appointment with the estate agents. "Spoken to the agents, its got tenants ‎atm. They getting back to me"

Then we came back here and had some lunch and updated the photo's on my 'puter, then went to gym (where I was only on the bike for 12 minutes but did 3 km in that time), again with no chair.

So I haven't seen my chair since last night, I have walked everywhere today. Which feels nice but possible

And more to the point I had no FES on today but I can feel if my ankle is behaving and it was

Old Men Can Still Think Fast

He had a large pond in the back. It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, a barbecue and some apple and peach trees.
One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over.
He grabbed a twenty litre bucket to bring back some fruit.
As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.
As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.
He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.
One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!'
The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.'
Holding the bucket up he said,

And we went and had a first look at a house tonight (I found it on a website) and it seems rather nice area wise etc. Timmy is gonna phone then tomorrow and see where we go from here

Hard Work

So I went to Drs/Chemist with no wheelchair and got my scripts. But one of the items that I ordered first wasn't there so we phoned the Docs and had to go back again, still with no wheelchair. So then as it was getting late I said “Gym?“ so we went off there still walking. I did loads of upper limb exercise to feed off my BoTox injection then loadsa miles on the cycle as I now have a reputation to maintain

So now Toby has been accepted at Uni, Sam is already there doing a masters, next year Freya might be there too so all 3 of my kids will be at University at once

So Pleased

After having my bath it still makes me grin big style to be able to dry my right leg with my right hand

Swimming

So we decided today that as the pool was so busy last week when we went swimming that I would just exercise in't gym. When we got there it was nearly empty.

In gym we tried to do exercises to wotk my upper arms as the BoTox that I had last week should be kickink in. On the lifting up exercise I was able to do 3 or 4 fully up with my right arm and TinyTimmy commented how he was having to help me lift it last time whereas he didn't help me at all today

And I am doing this so I can learn to do it from my phone too

Stories To My Phone

And I had a load of SciFi Short Stories that I downloaded onto my PC and I couldn't figure out how to get them onto my phone so I can listen away from PC. So Timmy came in today, said "You need to install......" and now it works, I transferred my 10 stories to my phone, it just worked

AND I transferred them wirelessly, didn't have to plug owt in, just pressed Transfer and it did

So s'morning I was walking with my 'stick in my right hand, thinking “This is so slow” but, as SmallPaul pointed out last night, it used to be really slow walking with my stick in the other hand too. Used to be

First Look

And we went 10 minutes away from Carmarthen and had a first look at a property and dunno, it might be too small but I won't know until Timmy phones them tomorrow and makes an appointment to look

Reach It

So today I confirmed that we have overcome one of the issues with my new car. When I put my seat right back (as we had to do on the old car) the bleeding "hand-rest" was in the way meaning I couldn't put the seatbelt on with my right hand, it necessitated a lean over and stick it in manoeuvre. But we moved the seat forward by 2 clicks and I can now reach the belt with my right hand

Warmer

And I noticed today that the central heating has switched itself off once again so it must be warmer today than it was yesterday

New Shopping Day

And me and Paul went and did my "new shopping day" at Morrison's s'morning. We only had 3 or 4 items to buy but I walked into, all around and back out, even tho I had no FES fitted on my right foot

Socks

And I tried to put some socks on today for the first time in months (usually my staff have to put on my Sockings first) and by gord but it is a lot easier now than it was last time I tried, I can now put both socks on without any help

Heating

And the central heating indoors has switched the radiators on again today for the first time in months so the temperature must be dropping again

Fixed The Armrest

Well today I was sitting in the car cursing the armrest that gets in the way and stops me trying to use my right hand to put my seatbelt in place and thought "OK, if I move the seat forward 2 notches I can use it then, but can I still get in and out of the car?", so I now know that I can get out and it didn't occur to me to try getting back in, so I won't know that until I go out next but hopefully......

Well Done

And I have just heard tonight, Toby, my first born, who fscked it up when I had my accident, he was being rebellious etc and fscked up school etc, he has just been accepted onto an BSc (hons) at Uni in England

And I had my injection a few hours ago now and it doesn't hurt or owt so I think I might be known as a lucky bugger...

Shop

So then s'morning we went to Aardvark where I did the most of my weeks shopping.

Then after a put shopping away trip home it was perfectly timed to head for the gym, where Gareth and Sam were in control and it went well

Then we had to head back to Aardvark to get the brain food we had forgotten s'morning

Jab in my bum

First thing s'morning, after my pooh etc, we had to head out to the doctors surgery where a nurse injected my bum with another months Bollock Builder cream. We enquired about having the 3 month injection next time but we have to see a doctor first

Poohing

So I got up s'morning not needing owt, sat down at table, ate my breakfast and now I can feel it, I need a pooh. I couldn't feel it 8 minutes ago but now I am sure...

Manyana

So after today's injection wasn't too bad I am scared that tomorrow's will be.......

Is It

And lying in bed today wiithout my eyepatch on I suspect that my right eye is moving back into line, getting better all by itself

Arm Today

And we have to travel to Neath today to get the injection in my right wrist/arm....

Well, that's done, my BoTox injections just in my right arm. It hasn't made a difference yet but t'is dun now. He had some trubble finding the sites but in the end injected my wrist, bicep and sho‎ulder

Grumble Again

I know I have complained before but it p*sses me off so much... So here I am lying in bed for my nap, naked, no covers over me, all warm enough apart from the toes on my right foot, the one that was nearly amputated after my accident

Late Birthday

As it happened Freya txted me s'morning and said "Wana take me out for a late birthday dinner, like u promised?" so we will pick her up later and have some fun

And it turned out to be rather fun, in the end

Quiet Morning

So I am having a quiet morning ATM, drinking a cuppa tea that Alex made then about lunchtime we will take ourselves to the swimming pool and hopefully do a few lengths etc

As it happened we couldn't. When we got there the pool was absolutely full of kids so instead we went into the gym and did some exercises.

Mmmm, definately possible

So s'afternoon me and Gareth took ourselves to Pontiets to look at another house. It looks promising, 10 minutes away from supermarket and there is a lovely view out the back. The only thing against it is perhaps the area is a bit too working class but I dunno if that will make a difference. I will ask Denyse to make an appointment for next time she is here

New Card

And today was the first time we tried buying anything with the new petty cash card. So I was a bit nervous handing it over but it just worked.  So all is well once more

So we nipped out to the market to buy another mop and bucket then went gymwards on the way home. I did all my exercises but on the "pushing up weights" machine I was really struggling with my right arm. Injection to improve that, hopefully, on Thursday.

But as we left the house there was heavy rain, once we had got in and started the car the sun was shining from a blue sky, by the time we were at gym it was raining again. The weather is traveling really quickly

Shooting a video

So s'morning I tried taking a video on my phone and sending it to my PC and putting it online. First of all when I entered the title of the video it said "Save...." but after some more research it works now. It isn't an exciting video but it is just me doing all stages of it by myself, not having to shout "Help" at any stage
